How to Get There

Maps to El Rancho Cima

El Rancho Cima is on the Blanco River, 15 miles west of San Marcos.

  1. Follow State Hwy 12 out of San Marcos 10 miles, until it makes a right turn to Wimberley.
  2. Continue STRAIGHT on Ranch Road 32 at the intersection to Wimberley.
  3. Look for a stone gate at the bottom of the hill, 5 miles on the right for El Rancho Cima Boy Scout Ranch.
  4. Follow the signs to Cockerell River Camp.

Bag Sale Headquarters

The Fall and Spring Bag Sale are headquartered at Chevron-Phillips, located at 1862 Kingwood Drive.

Box

The Box is where the Troop's equipment is stored. It is north of Northpark Drive east of Loop 494 and west of Woodland Hills Drive. Before events, if equipment is needed from the Box, each Patrol is required to send 2 representatives to the box the Wednesday before the event. These should be the Patrol Leader and Assistant. The Patrol Leader should contact the SPL if either of these cannot attend.

Canterbury Scout Ranch

The Troop uses Canterbury Scout Ranch for events such as the Troop picnic, Pedro Day, the annual planning meeting, and other meetings.

Directions:

  1. Take Sorters Road (from Kingwood College) going north. Turn right on Canterbury Lane. The Scout Ranch has a white rail fence on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road or in the driveway.
  2. Travel from Hwy 59 (Easttex Freeway) from FM 1314 going west toward Conroe. Turn left (South) on Old Sorters. Turn right (West) on Canterbury Lane. The Scout Ranch has a white rail fence on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road or in the driveway.
  3. Alternately, travel from Hwy 59 (Easttex Freeway) from FM 1314 going west toward Conroe. Turn left (South) on Kennedy (directly past La Casita restaurant). Turn right (West) on Canterbury Lane. The Scout Ranch is the third house on the right. The Scout Ranch has a white rail fence on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road or in the driveway.
  4. Alternately, travel from Hwy 59 (Easttex Freeway) from FM 1314 going west toward Conroe. Turn left (South) on Sorters Rd past the 'Jack in the Box' on the Northeast corner. Go past the dance studio on the right traveling south on Sorters Rd. Slow down -- Canterbury Lane is the first street to the left. The Scout Ranch has a white rail fence on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road or in the driveway.
