Tips

We are going to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in New Braunfels this coming weekend. Typically, your troop dues cover all campout facility and events fees except for an occasional special outing such as Schlitterbahn. The cost for a one-day group discount ticket is:

Adult (ages 12 & up) $33.00 (including tax)
Child (ages 3 - 11) $28.00 (including tax)

The ticket money will be collected on Friday evening before departure; please bring exact change in cash.

You will be in the sun and water most of the day. Keep in mind Sun Safety Tips and take the following steps to protect yourself:

1. Use sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 or greater; apply sunscreen about 30 minutes before going outside to allow it time to bond with your skin.
2. Be sure to reapply sunscreen frequently, especially after swimming, perspiring heavily or drying off with a towel.
3. To protect your eyes from sun damage, wear sunglasses
4. Wear clothing to protect as much skin as possible if you have had enough sun exposure
5. Wear a hat with a 4-inch brim all around because it protects areas often exposed to the sun, such as the neck, ears, eyes, forehead, nose and scalp.
6. Some medications, such as antibiotics, can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun
