Advancing New Scouts to First Class Scouting

"Pedro" is the historic term used by Troop 1377 to refer to a boy new to a Boy Scout Troop. Generally, Pedros are boys 10 or 11 years of age who join the troop in the spring or early summer.

Pedros have a special position within the Troop and traditionally the best campsite at El Rancho Cima. Special attention is paid to Pedros to ensure that they make significant strides in advancement and to ensure that they get integrated into the Troop.

A Scout who attends Summer Camp in the year he joins is no longer considered a Pedro, but still needs to complete the First Class Emphasis program.

We do have older Scouts who will go through the same or a similar First Class Emphasis program.
See the First Class Emphasis Page.
