    Note to Parents

When you drop your Scout to any troop event, please remain in the parking lot area until the bus has boarded everyone.

There are always unforeseeable circumstances such as a Scout forgetting medication, gear, part of the uniform, troop forms, money, etc., that may compromise the participation of the Scout to such event. By being in the immediate vicinity, these problems can be readily solved. Also, the driver usually upon boarding provides last minute information.

Your Scout's safety and well-being is our #1 priority, but we need your help too! We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

    New Trip Practice

Gather at 6 PM, Leave ASAP

Bottom line -- be on time! In the case of Enchanted Rock, gather at KUMC no later than 6 PM or risk missing the trip!

To use Scouts' and adults' time to better advantage, Scouts will gather at the 6 PM (or whatever time is required) before trips and other events and leave as soon as possible. The old practice was to plan to leave one hour after Scouts gather for a trip or event. Scouts started showing up late, and the Scouts that did show up on time stood around waiting for the other Scouts.

Starting with the 2007 Enchanted Rock trip, we will gather at 6 PM and leave as soon as possible. Scouts that come later than 6 PM may arrive too late to participate. We may leave as soon as 6:15 PM or 6:30 PM!
